PMC (Precious Metal Clay)

Ceyrat, stages de PMC
New ! PMC Workshops !

Invented a few years ago by the Mitsubishi Material Corporation, The PMC -precious metal Clay- is a real revolution for all creative people.

Microscopic particles of silver are mixed with a moist binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modelling clay. Using simple tools, objects are easily given shape, texture, and character. After air-drying, the objects are heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the particles fuse together to make a dense, fully metallic object. Fired PMC work can be polished, soldered, enamelled, patinated and enjoyed like any other silver item. Open to everyone from 10 years old, come and try this fantastic material.

With his silversmith experience, Olivier JULIA will share his knowledge with you, and you will be able to work PMC with hammered metal, soldering, patina or stone polishing.

Next workshops

Come for a week in the workshop and train yourself to the metalworking techniques: in a lovely natural place, located in the Basse Corrèze, you will learn about hammering, annealing, brasing and colouring copper or silver. You will also practice repoussé techniques, chiselling and engraving.
